Understanding NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient)

The Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) measures how effectively a material absorbs sound, on a scale from 0 to 1:

  • 0.0 = no absorption (e.g., a smooth concrete wall).
  • 1.0 = total absorption (e.g., an open window).

Versare SoundSorb™ Panels have an NRC rating of 0.6, meaning they absorb around 60% of sound energy; reducing echo and reverberation while maintaining a natural sound balance.
